Back Up and Data Recovery (Continued from p.1)
by: Kamel Aouiz
Being accountable to ensure the security of your organization’s data, it’s your job as an administrator to research the appropriate back up utility to use, therefore you should determine your needs and specify the options that you want for the best data redundancy.
From my personal experience, I found VERITAS BACKUP EXEC VERSION 8.6 for windows NT.4 and 2000 very reliable back up system in the market, with it’s scalability and storage management options to fulfill the requirement of any network such as using the remote agent to back up data in a mixed environment and the drive image option that is easy to configure and setup.
I believe that building a healthy and stable network can be a good investment, therefore, deploying the right software and solutions and make the right decisions will increase your company’s business growth.
